Rapper, Kwesi Arthur who trended for days following his BET recognition has seized the moment to increase his charges per show.
The Grind Day hitmaker was nominated in the Best International Act; Viewers Choice category which he eventually lost to a South Africa musician called Sjava.
In a typical illustration of make hay whilst the sun shines, the artiste has said he’ll now charge ¢30,000 instead of the ¢15,000 he used to charge.
However this move has been condemned by a Takoradi-based event organizer called Sadick Assah. Speaking on Zylofon FM, Sadick is reported to have said that he contacted the rapper for a show which he was asked to pay GH¢15,000 but the cash doubled after the Tema-based musician had the BET nomination.
According to him, the rapper’s new move will rather dent his brand and put a distance between he and the fans. Sadick further added that the young ones who are making waves, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, King Promise and the others need to be considerate when charging for shows because they will not reign forever.
